Every Rockwood engagement is shaped to the home and the homeowner. These three frames describe how we usually begin — but the brief is always written in conversation, not from a menu.
From the ground up
A new kitchen, designed from a blank brief and built around the way you actually live.
Our bespoke engagements are for homes being built, renovated, or reimagined entirely. We work alongside your architect where one is involved, or on our own where the kitchen is the centre of the project. Either way, we begin with the home in its current state and end with a kitchen that feels like it was always meant to be there.
The bespoke service includes full site measurement, design development across two or three iterations, complete material and finish specification, manufacture in our workshop, and managed installation.
Within existing walls
For kitchens whose footprint is right, but whose finish has run its course.
Renovation projects are for homeowners who love their home and want their kitchen to catch up to it. The walls stay where they are. The plumbing and electrical usually stay where they are. Everything else — cabinetry, surfaces, hardware, lighting — is composed afresh.
The constraint is the project. A great renovation is a quiet conversation between what's possible and what's preserved. We pride ourselves on knowing the difference.
Beyond the kitchen wall
The rooms next to the kitchen, composed in the same language.
Sculleries. Pantries. Bars. Wine rooms. Built-in dining benches. Office cabinetry that opens off the kitchen. These are the rooms that quietly extend the kitchen's logic into the rest of the home — and they deserve the same considered treatment.
We take on adjacent joinery either as part of a larger kitchen brief or as a standalone engagement for homes whose kitchen is already in place but whose support spaces need rethinking.
Site visit. Measurement. Photographs. A conversation with everyone who uses the space.
Two or three design iterations, with full visualisation. You see it before we build it.
Drawings, finish schedules, hardware lists. Everything written down before anything is cut.
Cabinetry manufactured to our specification by trades we have worked with for years.
We coordinate the site, the trades, and the schedule. You receive the finished kitchen.
Twelve months of follow-up. A studio you can call. A kitchen made to be lived in, properly.
Tell us about the project. We'll suggest the right frame — or compose one specifically for you.
